Fitness on the Flint: TABATA

Fitness on the Flint presented by Ambetter from Peach State Health Plan Saturday, September 19. 229 Funtional Fitness by Tony's Gym will host the workout, TABATA, and attendees will enjoy the choce of Tennesse Lemonade or a Beer after class concludes! Please bring your own mat and towel for class. Participants must be 16 or older to participate in the workout. Class will start at 10:30AM, check-in will start at 10:00AM. Tabata!! Tabata is a form of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) that's been proven to torch serious calories quickly. In a Tabata workout, each round lasts four minutes. It requires 20 seconds of all out intensity, followed by 10 seconds of rest, repeated eight times. We will apply the fundamentals of CrossFit, defined as constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity. Functional exercises are ones that mimic real-life movements, and usually require little to no equipment, like burpees, push-ups, and sit-ups, combined with running and other cardio activities. These classes will be scalable for everyone, from the advanced athlete to the beginner. Everyone will get a good sweat on.
