What are your plans for the summer? Join Albany Recreation & Parks for their 2021 Youth Summer Camp! This fun and creative camp is open to participants 7 to 12 years of age. Camp begins Tuesday, June 1, 2021, and comes to a close on Thursday, July 29, 2021. Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day! Early registration begins Saturday, April 17, 2021, at the 2021 Albany Summer Showcase from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The early registration fee is $100 per participant. General registration begins May 1, 2021. The general registration fee is $120 per participant. Campers will participate in activities covering: S.T.E.A.M. Ambetter by Peach Sate Health Plan and Michelob Ultra presents the Second Annual Flint River Entertainment Complex 5K Race Series hosted at the Veterans Park Amphitheatre in Downtown Albany. The Flint River Entertainment Complex Race Series is set to return this fall with two registration options. Runners who only wish to participate in a single 5K Event should choose their race of choice, and pay a $30 registration fee. Single race registration fees will include; entry to the race, and a 5K race t-shirt. Runners who wish to participate in the complete race series (all three races) should choose the FREC 5K Race Series – All 3 Races option, and pay a $75 registration fee. Series race registration fees will include; entry to all three 5K race events, a 5K race t-shirt, and a (1) complementary drink option. The Casting Crowns' Only Jesus Tour originally scheduled for Friday, April 10 at the Albany Civic Center has been rescheduled for Friday October 29, 2021.Tickets for the original April 10 date will be honored for the new October 29, 2021 date. With ongoing restrictions continuing across the country, and the desire to keep everyone safe, we are faced with the hard decision of having to postpone the Spring leg of our Only Jesus Tour with Matthew West to the Fall of 2021. All current ticket holders, unless otherwise notified, should retain their tickets to the original date as all tickets will be valid for the rescheduled date. If you are unable to attend the new date in the fall, a refund will be granted for the next 30 days. **The last day to request a refund is Monday, February 8, 2021. Please contact your initial point of purchase for any refunds. For those who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster.com you can access information through your TM account. Get ready for an autumn Saturday full of professional chalk art, live music and libations from around the state! AMA ChalkFest is returning to downtown Albany on Nov 13, 2021. We are pleased to announce that ChalkFest is returning as a live event in downtown Albany,” Mallory Black, co-chair of the Albany Museum of Art’s ChalkFest Committee, said. “We will have all the things everyone loved at our first two ChalkFest events—professional chalk artists creating unique artworks on the pavement, live music throughout the day, libations, food trucks and vendors.” This year's inspiration will be European Splendors, Renaissance and Baroque masterpieces that will be on exhibition at the Albany Museum of Art. ChalkFest also will have opportunities for amateur artists of all ages, as well as schools and organizations, to be involved in creative ways, including chalk art contests.
